Taking Kids to the Bathroom
If a student needs to go to the bathroom during class but is too young to go alone, ask your assistant or the desk staff to take them.
If a student can go by themselves, check that they know where to go and let them go.
If you find that a student is always going to the bathroom during class, gently remind them to go to the bathroom before class begins. If the problem persists, mention it to their parents, or contact Noelle to email their parents.

Dealing With Injuries
If a student sustains an injury while at the studio, it’s your job to assess the seriousness of the injury.
In case of a medical emergency, immediately contact 911. Then, ask Noelle (or other desk staff) to call the parents right away.
In case of a severe, but non-emergency incident, do not call 911. Ask Noelle (or other desk staff) to call the student's parents.
If the injury is not serious enough to contact parents, the student can sit out for the class or until they feel well enough to join back in. Notify the parents upon pick up.
Fill out an incident report (in our Plan to Protect).

Note: Arise is equipped with a First Aid box with bandaids, gauze pads, tensor bandages, etc for minor wounds and injuries.
Do NOT administer medication (including Advil/Tylenol) to students, if they are minors.

Notes on Difficult Situations
If you have one or more difficult children in your classes who are causing a disturbance or any other difficult or unusual problems, let Jen and Naomi know right away. Do not wait to see if it resolves on its own. Always communicate right away, so that we can help and let the parents know so they can try and help, etc.
If you suspect abuse of any kind, refer to the Plan to Protect guidelines for how to deal with it. Check in with Jen and Naomi for advice.
