Coming In/Starting classes
Arrive at least 15 min before class starts to open the studio and/or get your personal things settled, grab a snack/drink, and be ready to welcome the students. You are more than welcome to come even earlier to prep classes, choreography, stretch out, etc.
During warm months, if you are the first teacher to arrive at the studio, you may need to use the remote to turn on the air conditioning.
During cold months, if you are the first teacher to arrive at the studio, plug in and turn on the space heaters in Studio B (even if you aren’t teaching in Studio B) because we want to start warming up the studio as early as possible.
Go out to the front to welcome your students and help them get settled.
Take attendance in Jackrabbit (if some students are late, be sure to add them as they come in, or at the end of class).
Be sure to incorporate prayer into your class time by praying for the class at the beginning, and/or asking for prayer requests and praying at the end of class. (If you pray at the end of class, leave time to do so, so that your class doesn’t run late). All classes including our youngest classes should have prayer times. You may pray yourself, and/or ask the students to pray.

Locking Up
Be very sure that all children have been picked up. Check outside the building on both sides and triple-check that all the students are safely gone.
Unplug both space heaters in Studio B (if it is cold and they have been plugged in and running).
Leave the fans set up and on to circulate air between the studios.
Turn off the speakers on the switch at the back AND turn off the power strip.
Turn off all the lights (check the bathroom lights).
Check and lock all four doors behind you (double-check the back door and both garage doors).
Leave all the inside doors propped open (Studio A, Studio B and the door to the warm-up room).
